Position Overview:

The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking a highly motivated and passionate High School Art Teacher to inspire our students' creativity and skills. The ideal candidate will have a background in ceramics and practical knowledge of kiln operation and basic maintenance. Teaching responsibilities include but are not limited to, preparing art materials for student use, preparing lessons, delivering developmentally appropriate instruction on art techniques, and supporting student participation in local art exhibitions. This Long Term Substitute will work the estimated dates of 3/29/25 - 6/20/2025

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Valid teaching certification in Art Education (or the ability to obtain one).
• Proven experience teaching art at the [elementary, middle, or high school] level.
• Strong knowledge of various art techniques, mediums, and contemporary art practices.
• Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to work effectively with students of diverse learning abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students to express themselves creatively.
