Position Overview:
The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking a dedicated and qualified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to cover two separate assignments within our district. The selected candidate will provide speech and language therapy to students during one or both of the following periods:
- First Assignment: January 14, 2025, to February 14, 2025
- Second Assignment: March 20, 2025, to May 15, 2025
This is a temporary substitute role, and the SLP will be expected to support students in meeting their speech and language goals during one or both of these specific periods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy services to students on an individual or group basis.
- Evaluate and diagnose speech and language disorders, create individualized therapy plans, and track student progress.
- Develop and implement treatment plans for students with speech or language impairments.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student development and academic success.
- Document therapy sessions, student progress, and communication with parents or guardians.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of goals for students.
- Maintain appropriate records and comply with school district policies and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
- Valid state license and certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Experience working with students in a school setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of state and federal special education regulations and IEP processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
