Elementary Art Teacher 1.0 Leave of Absence Coverage - September 24, 2025-December 17, 2025
The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Elementary Art Teacher to cover a leave of absence. We are looking for culturally responsive educators who foster creativity and inspire students to reach their highest potential through visual arts.
In this role, you will introduce students to various artistic mediums such as drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media, while cultivating an appreciation for art. The Elementary Art Teacher will develop students’ foundational skills in color theory, composition, artistic techniques, and creative expression.
We are seeking dynamic educators with the appropriate NYS Art certification who can create an engaging and inclusive learning environment. Using creative teaching methods, this position inspires students to explore and enjoy visual arts, fostering growth in both individual and collaborative artistic endeavors.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and implement lessons that align with the NYS Learning Standards for the Arts.

Teach foundational art concepts, including color theory, composition, the elements and principles of art, and artistic techniques.

Utilize various artistic mediums including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media to create an interactive and enjoyable classroom experience.

Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners.

Organize and display student artwork throughout the school

Communicate with families to share students' progress and foster community involvement.

Utilize technology effectively, including digital art tools and educational software.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal and Fine Arts Department Supervisor.
