Tier I Teaching Assistant
Location: BH-BL High School
Position Type: 6.5 hours/day
Position Summary
The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking a reliable and student-focused Tier I Teaching Assistant to support students and instructional staff at BHBL High School. This position provides general classroom support to help ensure a positive, inclusive, and productive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Support classroom instruction under the direction of a certified teacher
- Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning
- Assist with classroom management and supervision
- Help prepare instructional materials and maintain an organized classroom
- Supervise students during transitions, lunch, study halls, or other assigned periods
- Promote positive behavior and support student engagement
- Communicate effectively with teachers and school staff
Minimum Qualifications
- NYS Teaching Assistant Level I Certification (or eligibility to obtain)
- Ability to work effectively with students and staff
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Dependability, flexibility, and a positive attitude
