Position Overview
The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Assistant Principal to join our administrative team. The Assistant Principal will support the Principal in providing instructional leadership, fostering a positive school culture, and ensuring a safe, inclusive, and high-performing learning environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Principal in the daily operation and management of the school
- Provide instructional leadership, including curriculum implementation, classroom observations, and teacher evaluations
- Promote a positive school climate focused on student achievement, equity, and well-being
- Assist with student discipline, attendance, and social-emotional support.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, families, and district leadership
- Support professional development and coaching for instructional staff
- Ensure compliance with district policies, state regulations, and school safety procedures
- Participate in building-level planning, scheduling, and supervision of school activities
- Provide supervision of extracurricular programs and afternoon/evening school events
- Participate in our Summer School program — scheduling, monitoring student behavior, etc…
- Coordinate Regents Exams and NYS Field-Testing exams
- Assist with hiring / interview process
Qualifications
- Valid New York State School Building Leader (SBL) or equivalent administrative certification
- Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or related field
- Successful teaching experience required
- Prior administrative experience preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated commitment to student success and inclusive practices
