Spanish Teacher (0.4 FTE) – O'Rourke Middle School
The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Spanish Teacher to join the team at O'Rourke Middle School. The successful candidate will foster a positive and engaging learning environment while inspiring students to develop proficiency in the Spanish language and an appreciation for Hispanic cultures.
Responsibilities include:
- Plan and deliver engaging Spanish language instruction aligned with the New York State Learning Standards and district curriculum.
- Create a classroom environment that promotes communication, collaboration, and student engagement.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of students.
- Assess student progress and provide timely, meaningful feedback to students and families.
- Integrate technology and instructional best practices to enhance language acquisition.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student success.
- Maintain accurate student records and fulfill all professional responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Valid New York State Certification in Spanish 7–12 (or appropriate World Language certification).
- Strong knowledge of language acquisition strategies and middle school instructional practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and supportive learning environment.
