Position Summary
Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking a Middle School English Teacher to join our instructional team. The successful candidate will foster a positive learning environment that supports literacy development, critical thinking, and a love of reading and writing among middle school students.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned English Language Arts instruction
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic needs of students
- Assess student learning and provide timely, meaningful feedback
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
- Participate in professional development and school-based initiatives
- Maintain accurate records and comply with district policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Valid New York State certification in English (Grades 5–9 or 7–12)
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and families
- Experience with middle school learners preferred
