Occupational Therapist - 1.0 FTE, Probationary

The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Occupational Therapist to join our team. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), probationary position for a New York State–licensed professional committed to supporting student success and independence.

The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with educators, families, and related service providers to support students in developing the skills necessary to access and participate fully in their educational programs.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Evaluating students’ functional abilities and needs related to fine motor, sensory processing, and daily living skills
  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans in accordance with IEP goals
  • Providing direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students
  • Collaborating with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to support student progress
  • Recommending and supporting the use of adaptive equipment
  • Monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate, up-to-date documentation
  • Participating in Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings and contributing to IEP development
  • Communicating effectively with families regarding student progress and strategies for support
  • Staying current with best practices through ongoing professional development

Qualifications:

  • New York State license and registration as an Occupational Therapist (required)
  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (required)
  • Experience working in a school setting preferred
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
