The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Director of Budget and Finance for the 2026–2027 school year. This key leadership position reports directly to the Superintendent of Schools and plays a critical role in ensuring the fiscal integrity and operational efficiency of the District.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and oversight of the District’s financial operations, including budget development, monitoring, and long-range financial planning.
- Prepare and present financial reports to the Superintendent and Board of Education.
- Oversee and manage the financial aspects of capital projects, including planning, budgeting, and compliance.
- Participate in collective bargaining and support contract negotiations.
- Administer the District’s insurance programs and risk management strategies.
- Supervise non-instructional operations as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools, including the Food Service Department, with responsibility for both personnel and financial management.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and reporting requirements related to school finance.
Qualifications:
- NYS School District Business Leader (SDBL), NYS School Business Administrator (SBA) or School District Administrator (SDA) certification preferred (or ability to obtain).
- Demonstrated experience in school finance, budgeting, and fiscal management.
- Strong knowledge of New York State education finance regulations and reporting.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to effectively supervise staff and manage complex operations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
