Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District: Aquatics Director
The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and dedicated individual to serve as an Aquatics Supervisor. This hourly position is responsible for overseeing the safety, programming, and daily operations of the District’s aquatic facilities and services. This position is a part-time, hourly position with a schedule created in collaboration with the Athletic Director and High School Principal.
Key Responsibilities
Program Development & Community Engagement
- Coordinate and oversee all aquatics programs, including both school-based and community offerings
- Develop and implement youth programming, particularly in the absence of a club swim team feeder program
- Identify and introduce new aquatic activities that align with community interests and operational capacity
- Serve as the primary point of contact for community pool use, providing strong customer service and resolving concerns
- Explore and potentially implement evening and weekend community programs, including “Learn to Swim” opportunities
- Develop and support community outreach initiatives
Supervision & Safety Compliance
- Schedule, supervise, and support all lifeguard staff
- Ensure appropriate lifeguard coverage during all pool operations
- Oversee onboarding and training of pool personnel, including maintaining certification records
- Maintain safe and sanitary pool conditions in compliance with all local and state regulations
- Conduct daily (weekday) checks of pool chemical levels and temperature, maintaining accurate logs
- Ensure adherence to the Pool Safety Plan and Emergency Action Plan, including updates as needed
Administrative & Operational Duties
- Collaborate with the Athletic Department and Facilities Office to maintain an accurate pool schedule in Incident IQ
- Monitor inventory and order necessary pool supplies
- Identify and recommend equipment and facility improvements, including preventative maintenance planning
- Complete and submit required reports to regulatory agencies
