Tier I Teaching Assistant – O’Rourke Middle School

The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking dedicated, student-centered Teaching Assistants to support the academic, social, and behavioral needs of students at the Middle School. Teaching Assistants work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and support staff to help create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student success.
Positions Available:
Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting teachers with instructional activities and classroom management.
- Providing academic and behavioral support to individual students and small groups.
- Supporting the implementation of student accommodations and modifications as directed.
- Assisting with supervision during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, study halls, and other school functions as assigned.
- Helping maintain a safe, positive, and productive learning environment.
- Performing clerical and organizational tasks related to classroom operations.
- Collaborating effectively with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families when appropriate.
Qualifications:
- New York State Teaching Assistant Certification required or eligibility to obtain certification.
- Experience working with middle school-aged students preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- Commitment to supporting the diverse needs of all learners.
