Grade 1 – Long-Term Substitute Teacher

Assignment Dates: September 2, 2026 – November 24, 2026 (approximately 12 weeks)
The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Long-Term Substitute Grade 1 Teacher for an anticipated 12-week assignment at Pashley Elementary School. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction, fostering a positive classroom environment, and supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of first-grade students.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with New York State Learning Standards and district curriculum.
- Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student learning and success.
- Assess student progress and maintain accurate records of student performance.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, colleagues, and administrators.
- Collaborate with grade-level teams, support staff, and school leadership.
- Implement classroom management strategies that encourage positive student behavior.
- Perform all duties and responsibilities associated with the assigned teaching position.
Qualifications:
- Valid New York State Childhood Education Certification (Grades 1–6) required.
- Strong knowledge of elementary instructional practices and student development.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Prior elementary teaching experience preferred.
