Special Education Teacher (1.0 FTE, Probationary)
Location: Pashley Elementary School

The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Education Teacher to join our team at Pashley Elementary School. This is a full-time, probationary appointment for a New York State–certified educator who is passionate about supporting the success of all learners.

The ideal candidate will inspire and engage students with disabilities, foster a love of learning, and collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive, inclusive, and enriching educational environment.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Assessing students’ strengths, needs, and abilities to inform instruction.
  • Developing and implementing lesson plans that address individual learning goals.
  • Collaborating with general education teachers, social workers, counselors, psychologists, and other professionals to support student achievement.
  • Coordinating paraprofessional staff in implementing instructional and behavioral support plans.
  • Monitoring student progress and adjusting educational plans as needed.
  • Communicating regularly and responsively with families regarding student growth and needs.
  • Maintaining accurate, up-to-date student records and documentation.
  • Actively engaging in professional development to remain current with best practices in special education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education (required).
  • Valid NYS Special Education Teaching Certification.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, culturally responsive learning environment.
