Position Overview:

We are looking for reliable Non-Instructional Substitutes to support various functions within our school. This role includes responsibility for food service, student monitoring, and clerical support, and summer maintenance help.

Key Responsibilities:

Food Service:

  • Assist in the preparation and serving of meals in accordance with health and safety standards.
  • Help maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Ensure that food is presented appealingly and served at the appropriate temperature.
  • Comply with dietary restrictions and food safety regulations.

Student Monitoring:

  • Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other non-classroom activities to ensure safety and proper behavior.
  • Promote a positive and respectful environment among students.
  • Address and manage minor conflicts or issues as they arise.
  • Assist with student arrival and dismissal procedures.

Clerical Support:

  • Provide administrative assistance, including filing, data entry, and organizing materials.
  • Support teachers and staff with clerical tasks as needed.
  • Help maintain accurate records and reports.

Maintenance Responsibilities:

  • Assist with basic maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and organizing classrooms, hallways, and common areas.
  • Report any maintenance issues or repairs needed to the appropriate staff.
  • Help ensure that facilities are safe and well-maintained for students and staff.
  • Assist with setting up and taking down equipment for school events as needed.

Working Conditions:

  • Hours may vary based on school needs and availability.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and engage actively with students.
$18.00/hr
Food Service Substitutes

he Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking dependable and flexible Substitute Food Service Workers to join our school cafeteria team. Substitutes play an important role in supporting daily cafeteria operations, ensuring that students receive healthy, nutritious meals in a clean and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparation, cooking, and serving of meals to students and staff.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Set up, restock, and clean serving areas.
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and cafeteria areas.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Provide friendly, courteous service to students, staff, and visitors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager or designee.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior food service or cafeteria experience helpful, but not required.
  • Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and flexible with work assignments.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds.

Work Schedule & Pay:

  • On-call, as needed basis.
  • Flexible hours depending on school schedules.
  • Competitive hourly rate.

Substitute Cleaner

Position Overview:

The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking reliable and hardworking individuals to join our team as Substitute Cleaners.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment in school buildings
  • Performing general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces
  • Emptying trash receptacles and replenishing supplies
  • Assisting with setup and cleanup for school events as needed

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from High School or possession of a High School Equivalency Diploma; OR
  • Three months of building cleaning experience; OR
  • Successful completion of a job training or job readiness program
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with cleaning
  • Dependable and punctual
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
