Teaching Assistant Tier II (7.25 Hours/Day)
Stevens Elementary School & Transportation Department

The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking a dedicated, dependable, and student-centered Teaching Assistant to support students and staff at Stevens Elementary School while also assisting the Transportation Department through required bus duty assignments. 

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, support staff, and transportation personnel to help provide a safe, supportive, and productive learning environment for students throughout the school day. Candidates assigned to bus monitoring duties will be required to successfully complete Bus Monitor Training and maintain all required transportation-related certifications and trainings.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist teachers with instructional activities and classroom management.
  • Provide academic and behavioral support to individual students and small groups.
  • Help supervise students during classroom, lunch, recess, arrival, and dismissal activities.
  • Support the implementation of student accommodations and interventions as directed.
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with clerical tasks as needed.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Perform assigned bus duty responsibilities before and/or after the school day, including monitoring student behavior, ensuring student safety, and assisting with orderly loading and unloading procedures.
  • Collaborate with Transportation Department staff to support safe student transportation operations.

Qualifications:

  • New York State Teaching Assistant Certification required or eligibility to obtain certification.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.

Job Description:

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking dedicated and flexible individuals to join our team as Substitute Teaching Assistants. This position offers the opportunity to support teachers and students in a dynamic learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist classroom teachers with implementing lesson plans and classroom activities.
  • Support students with their academic and emotional needs.
  • Supervise students during classroom activities, lunch, and recess.
  • Help maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, college coursework in education is a plus.

  • NYS Department of Education Fingerprint Clearance (or willing to obtain)

Job Description: We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable substitute teachers to join our team. As a substitute teacher, you will step into various classrooms and provide instruction in the absence of the regular teacher. Your role will be crucial in maintaining a positive learning atmosphere and ensuring that educational objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher.
  • Manage classroom behavior and create a safe, respectful environment.
  • Engage students in learning activities and encourage participation.
  • Communicate effectively with students and staff.
  • Provide feedback on student performance and classroom activities.
  • Ensure the classroom is left in good order at the end of the day.
$119-$147/day
