Spanish Teacher (0.4 FTE) – O'Rourke Middle School

The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Spanish Teacher to join the team at O'Rourke Middle School. The successful candidate will foster a positive and engaging learning environment while inspiring students to develop proficiency in the Spanish language and an appreciation for Hispanic cultures.

Responsibilities include:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Spanish language instruction aligned with the New York State Learning Standards and district curriculum.
  • Create a classroom environment that promotes communication, collaboration, and student engagement.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of students.
  • Assess student progress and provide timely, meaningful feedback to students and families.
  • Integrate technology and instructional best practices to enhance language acquisition.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student success.
  • Maintain accurate student records and fulfill all professional responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Valid New York State Certification in Spanish 7–12 (or appropriate World Language certification).
  • Strong knowledge of language acquisition strategies and middle school instructional practices.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and supportive learning environment.

Teaching Assistant - Tier I (Middle School)

Tier I Teaching Assistant – O’Rourke Middle School
2026-2027 School Year

The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking dedicated, student-centered Teaching Assistants to support the academic, social, and behavioral needs of students at the Middle School. Teaching Assistants work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and support staff to help create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student success.

Positions Available:

  • 1 Teaching Assistant – 5.5 hours/day

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting teachers with instructional activities and classroom management.
  • Providing academic and behavioral support to individual students and small groups.
  • Supporting the implementation of student accommodations and modifications as directed.
  • Assisting with supervision during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, study halls, and other school functions as assigned.
  • Helping maintain a safe, positive, and productive learning environment.
  • Performing clerical and organizational tasks related to classroom operations.
  • Collaborating effectively with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families when appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • New York State Teaching Assistant Certification required or eligibility to obtain certification.
  • Experience working with middle school-aged students preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
  • Commitment to supporting the diverse needs of all learners.
