Food Service Substitutes

he Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking dependable and flexible Substitute Food Service Workers to join our school cafeteria team. Substitutes play an important role in supporting daily cafeteria operations, ensuring that students receive healthy, nutritious meals in a clean and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparation, cooking, and serving of meals to students and staff.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Set up, restock, and clean serving areas.
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and cafeteria areas.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Provide friendly, courteous service to students, staff, and visitors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager or designee.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior food service or cafeteria experience helpful, but not required.
  • Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and flexible with work assignments.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds.

Work Schedule & Pay:

  • On-call, as needed basis.
  • Flexible hours depending on school schedules.
  • Competitive hourly rate.

Substitute Cleaner

Position Overview:

The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking reliable and hardworking individuals to join our team as Substitute Cleaners.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment in school buildings
  • Performing general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces
  • Emptying trash receptacles and replenishing supplies
  • Assisting with setup and cleanup for school events as needed

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from High School or possession of a High School Equivalency Diploma; OR
  • Three months of building cleaning experience; OR
  • Successful completion of a job training or job readiness program
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with cleaning
  • Dependable and punctual
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Tutor - 2025-2026 School Year

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate tutor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, a love for teaching, and the ability to work one-on-one with students to help them achieve their academic goals. As a tutor, you will provide personalized lessons, guidance, and support to students of various ages and skill levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized tutoring sessions in [subject(s) such as Math, English, Science, etc.]
  • Develop tailored lesson plans that meet the specific needs and goals of each student
  • Monitor and track students' progress, adjusting methods as needed to maximize their learning potential
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about progress and areas for improvement

Qualifications:
