The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking a caring, dependable, and student-focused Teaching Assistant to provide support for students at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School.

The successful candidate will work closely with classroom teachers and other support staff to help meet the individual academic, behavioral, social, and physical needs of the assigned student while fostering independence and promoting a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist students with classroom activities, organization, and instructional tasks.
  • Support the implementation of instructional, behavioral, and accommodation plans as directed.
  • Encourage positive social interactions and student independence.
  • Monitor students' progress and communicate effectively with teachers, related service providers, and administrators.
  • Assist with supervision during transitions, lunch, and other school activities as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Principal.

Qualifications:

  • New York State Teaching Assistant certification or the ability to obtain certification.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a commitment to supporting student success.
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs is preferred.

Tier III Teaching Assistant - Achieve Program (Temporary)
Temporary Teaching Assistant – Achieve Program (6.5 Hours/Day)
Stevens Elementary School

The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Teaching Assistant to support students in the Achieve Program at Stevens Elementary School. This is a temporary position beginning September 2, 2026, through November 30, 2026.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students. Responsibilities include assisting with classroom instruction, implementing student accommodations, reinforcing learning activities, supervising students, and helping to maintain a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • New York State Teaching Assistant certification required or eligibility for certification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative educational team.
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs is preferred.

Teaching Assistant - Tier I (Middle School)

Tier I Teaching Assistant – O’Rourke Middle School
2026-2027 School Year

The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking dedicated, student-centered Teaching Assistants to support the academic, social, and behavioral needs of students at the Middle School. Teaching Assistants work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and support staff to help create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student success.

Positions Available:

  • 1 Teaching Assistant – 5.5 hours/day

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting teachers with instructional activities and classroom management.
  • Providing academic and behavioral support to individual students and small groups.
  • Supporting the implementation of student accommodations and modifications as directed.
  • Assisting with supervision during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, study halls, and other school functions as assigned.
  • Helping maintain a safe, positive, and productive learning environment.
  • Performing clerical and organizational tasks related to classroom operations.
  • Collaborating effectively with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families when appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • New York State Teaching Assistant Certification required or eligibility to obtain certification.
  • Experience working with middle school-aged students preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
  • Commitment to supporting the diverse needs of all learners.
