Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our STRIVE classroom (12:1:2) on a temporary basis. In this role, you will support students with diverse learning needs in a structured and nurturing environment. You will work closely with the classroom teacher and support staff to promote academic, social, and emotional growth for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the lead teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Support students with varying disabilities in accessing and engaging with the curriculum.
  • Facilitate daily routines and classroom activities, ensuring a safe and supportive learning space.
  • Collaborate with therapists, specialists, and other team members to address student needs.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to student success.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of behavioral management techniques is a plus.
  • Must hold or be willing to obtain a Teaching Assistant certificate.
