Work Hours: 3:00pm-11:00pm (8 hours/day)

The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking (3) two reliable and hardworking 2nd Shift Cleaners to maintain the cleanliness and safety of school facilities. This position plays a key role in ensuring that classrooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas are clean, sanitary, and ready for daily use by students and staff. 

Civil Service Job Description

Classification: Non-Competitive

This is routine work requiring the efficient performance of a variety of cleaning tasks. The work involves execution of these tasks through a well established routine. Direct supervision is received from a higher level supervisor. The incumbent does related work as required.

Typical Work Activities

  • Dusts chairs, tables desks and other furniture;
  • Washes windows, walls, woodwork, toilets and sinks;
  • Sweeps, mops, vacuums and waxes floors with various equipment designed for those purposes;
  • Gathers and disposes of refuse;
  • Cleans and polishes furniture;
  • Performs a variety of routine errands and cleaning tasks;
  • Performs a variety of related duties as required;
  • May use a district motor vehicle as assigned.

When Assigned to a School District

  • May clean blackboards and erasers;
  • May monitor rest rooms and report violations of non-smoking policy;
  • May use a district motor vehicle as assigned.

Full performance knowledge, skills, abilities and personal characteristics: Working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment; ability to follow oral and written direction; ability to get along well with others; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from High School or possession of a High School Equivalency Diploma; OR
  • Three months of building cleaning experience; OR
  • Successful completion of a job training or job readiness program.

Special Requirements

A valid New York State Driver’s License may be required, at the discretion of the appointing authority.

Speech-Language Pathologist - Temporary

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and caring Speech Teacher to join our special education team, serving students at the high school level. The successful candidate will provide speech and language therapy services, evaluate student needs, and work collaboratively with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families to support student success.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group speech-language therapy to students in accordance with IEP goals.
  • Conduct evaluations and assessments of speech, language, and communication skills.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to student needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support communication development across settings.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, progress notes, and reports.
  • Participate in CSE meetings and contribute to IEP development.

Qualifications:

  • NYS Certification as a Speech and Language Disabilities (SLD) Teacher or Speech-Language Pathologist required.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience in school-based settings and familiarity with IEP development
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices for articulation, language, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), and working with students with Autism.
  • Licensure with ASHA CCC-SLP

Burnt Hills- Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking a dedicated and passionate Biology Teacher to join our high school faculty. Librarian - High School Summer

The School Librarian plays an essential role in cultivating a vibrant culture of reading, research, and lifelong learning within the school community. This position is responsible for managing the school library, thoughtfully curating a diverse and inclusive collection of resources, and providing meaningful guidance to students and faculty in accessing and utilizing information effectively.

Through collaboration and instructional support, the School Librarian advances literacy, strengthens critical thinking skills, and empowers students to become confident, curious learners. This role is integral to supporting both the academic achievement and personal growth of every student.

Program Dates: July 6, 2026 – August 19, 2026 (Monday - Thursday)

Program Hours: 8:00am - 1:30pm
