Position Summary

The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking a reliable and student-focused Tier I Teaching Assistant to support students and instructional staff at BHBL High School. This position provides general classroom support to help ensure a positive, inclusive, and productive learning environment.


Responsibilities

  • Support classroom instruction under the direction of a certified teacher
  • Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning
  • Assist with classroom management and supervision
  • Help prepare instructional materials and maintain an organized classroom
  • Supervise students during transitions, lunch, study halls, or other assigned periods
  • Promote positive behavior and support student engagement
  • Communicate effectively with teachers and school staff

Minimum Qualifications

  • NYS Teaching Assistant Level I Certification (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Ability to work effectively with students and staff
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Dependability, flexibility, and a positive attitude

Schedule & Compensation

  • Hours: 6.5 hours per day

  • Salary/Benefits: Step 1 ($18.35/hr) - Step 3 ($19.78/hr)

Position Summary

The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and student-centered Tier III Teaching Assistant to support students in a self-contained classroom setting at BHBL High School. This position plays a vital role in providing instructional, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students with diverse learning needs in a structured, supportive environment.


Responsibilities

  • Provide direct instructional support to students individually and in small groups under the direction of a certified teacher
  • Assist with implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Support students with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs
  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment
  • Assist with classroom organization, materials preparation, and daily routines
  • Support students with personal care and mobility needs as required
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers
  • Supervise students during transitions, lunch, and other non-instructional times as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • NYS Teaching Assistant Level III Certification (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Experience working with students with special needs preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, flexibility, and a commitment to student success

  • Boys Crew – Head Coach

  • Girls Crew – Head Coach

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and lead all aspects of the crew program
  • Develop training plans for athletes at varying skill levels
  • Teach rowing technique, teamwork, sportsmanship, and safety
  • Supervise student-athletes during practices, regattas, and travel
  • Coordinate equipment use, maintenance, and boathouse operations
  • Communicate effectively with athletes, families, athletic staff, and boosters
  • Ensure compliance with district, league, and NYSPHSAA rules and regulations

Qualifications

  • Prior rowing and/or coaching experience required or strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of rowing safety protocols and best practices
  • NYSED coaching requirements (or willingness to complete):
    • First Aid/CPR/AED
    • DASA
    • Child Abuse Identification
    • School Violence Prevention
  • Fingerprint clearance required

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Coach with planning and conducting daily practices
  • Support coaching of event groups (sprints, distance, jumps, throws, or hurdles, as assigned)
  • Help develop athletes’ skills, sportsmanship, and teamwork
  • Supervise student-athletes during practices, meets, and travel
  • Communicate effectively with athletes, families, and athletic staff
  • Follow all district, league, and NYSPHSAA rules and regulations

Qualifications

  • Prior coaching and/or competitive Track & Field experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
